Qorioley Road
Rehabilitation
DBG rehabilitated Qorioley road of

unsuitable soil from the road

additional 7cm base course layer
including levelling, watering and
compacting of the road. In addition,
DBG carried out throatier embankment
with side slopes escavated and culverts
paved forin-lets and out-lets with rip rope
storm.

Food Security Food Security
Project
Rehabilitation of agricultural infrastructure
excavation of water point for livestock,
provision of farm inputs, agricultural
extension and training. PS. This project
started in 2004 and it's completion still
ongoing in 2005 although the rehabilitation
of irrigation infrastructures, farm inputs and
the introduction of demoplots were completed
the remaining components of this project
are currently the salaries of DBG part-time
staff and the training of contact farmers
as well as the meeting with community
leaders.

through extension
and training
Methodology
DBG provided farm inputs for 120 hecters
to 120 women headed household farmers
living in Awdhegle district villages (Malable
Danyerey and Mubarak villages) of the
Lower Shabelle region. PS. This project started
in 2004 and was completed on March 31, 2005.

Supporting 8
primary and
secondary schools
in Mogadishu,
Middle and Lower
Shabelle regions.
In the year 2004, DBG supported
Biyo'addo school of Jowhar district,
Darerto school of Balad district and
Sheikh Ibrahim school of Gal'ad district
(Middle Shabelle region). Elash school
of Afgoi district (Lower Shabelle region),
Tawakal school, Daynile school,
Al-Kowsar school, Hantiwadag school
of Mogadishu. The activities carried out
include construction of 25 classrooms,
, rehabilitation of 3 classrooms, constr-
uction of 5 office rooms, and10 latrins
as well as the provision of 395 desks,
395 benches, 38 office chairs, 6 cupbo-
ards and 6 office tables.

DBG provided assistance of school fees
to a poor student Abdinasir Shekh Mo'ed
who was studying information technology
at SIMAD (Somali Institute of

Workshop on
Program Maintenance
DBG conducted training session for
3 days to the Program maintenance
committees to promote the capacity of
the beneficiaries in participating in the
maintenance of the program by hiring
2 facilitators who were in charge to
conduct the training to 8 educational
institutions and the womens Development
Center. The workshop was held at DBG
compound on April 12, 13 and 14, 2005
in Mogadishu.

reconciliation
 
Peace Promotion
DBG conducted support of reconciliation
efforts including the holding of 6 meetings
and vehicle rents of 5 four wheel drive
with the aim to mediate a ceasefire
between 2 warring sub clans in Hobio
district area of Mudug region. Furthermore
DBG conducted social awareness
training workshops, peace promotion
programs through radio and magazines,concerts, peace promotion slogans
and peace rallies and sports tournments
in Mogadishu and Lower & Middle
Shabelle regions.
